SubScouter ("we", "us", or "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over it. By using SubScouter, you agree to the practices described here.

We only collect what is strictly necessary to operate the service:

• Account information: Your name and email address, provided during sign-up via Google or Microsoft login.
• Email metadata: Subject lines, sender names, and dates from financial emails only (receipts, invoices, renewal notices). We never access the full body of personal emails.
• Subscription data: Service names, amounts, and billing cycles that you track within the app.
• Usage signals: Anonymized, aggregated data about feature usage — used only to improve the product.

• Your bank account credentials or financial account passwords
• The content of personal, private, or non-financial emails
• Sensitive identifiers such as government ID numbers or full payment card details
• Your location data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Identify and surface recurring subscription charges from your connected email
• Send renewal reminder notifications (only if you enable them)
• Improve detection accuracy using fully anonymized signals
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access

Google API Compliance

SubScouter's use of information from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. We do not use your Google data for advertising and do not allow humans to read your data without your explicit agreement.

Your subscription data is stored locally on your device. An optional encrypted backup can be held securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption. All transfers use secure, encrypted connections.

Retention: We retain your data only while your account is active. Deleting your account permanently erases all associated data.

• Access: Request a copy of your data via our data export feature.
• Deletion: Delete all data from Settings or by emailing [email protected].
• Portability: Export your subscription history as a CSV from the app.
• Opt-out: Disconnect your email account at any time from Connections settings.

EU users may have rights under GDPR. California users may have additional rights under CCPA.

SubScouter integrates with the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google OAuth 2.0 (read-only Gmail access)
• Microsoft OAuth 2.0 (read-only Outlook access)
• Razorpay (payment processing for Pro subscriptions)
• Resend (transactional email delivery)

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
